What is this project?
This project is our masterpiece that we've been working on since 2011. This is a desktop operating system that dares to break the status quo and stand out from the crowd. We want to take a good look at the paradigms that have been implemented in operating systems for years - some of which, may now be detrimental to progress and innovation in this ever increasingly technologically proficient age where more people are demanding more from their workflows. Our idea is making it easier to get everyday things done and vastly improving how fast everyday tasks can be achieved.
We want to re-imagine the desktop interface from the ground up and rethink how people use their computers in today's technologically complex world by taking out tedious unnecessary busy work for the user (such as how to organize your desktop icons and wasting precious time organizing your files). Wasn't the machine created to take tedious work out of everyday life? But instead, it actually makes even more of this same kind of tedious busy work. We want to design an experience where the operating system either attempts to get out of your way of doing this, or simply offers you intuitive new methods of doing your tasks through out of the box ways. The overall objective is allowing you to manage your windows to heighten your level of awareness and interoperability. Especially if it requires using more than one application at a time instead of being boxed into one solitary application.
We've spent over five years meticulously thinking out every little detail and looking at what a computer could truly be capable of. We've meticulously designed an entirely different user interface that almost feels as real as a real life experience, yet, not foreign to such a degree where it wouldn't be unfamiliar to any user. It continues to use many of the same elements that are present within other operating systems such as icons, menus, etc. , but goes out of its way to maximize every tiny little detail of how they function and what could be improved to provide an even greater level of responsiveness and awareness.

When will previews and screenshots be available?
Due to production of the operating system still being deep in development, and certain legal obligations that need to be addressed before we are able to allow the public to see our work, we are not able to display screenshots as of yet. Previews of our system will begin around the projected time of Summer/Fall 2017.
What makes this project different?
The streamlined interface makes it so much easier to work, play, or whatever you do. The design goal is to allow the user to actually breathe when using it with its clutter-free user interface experience. clarityOS also takes performance very seriously so you can have pure speed and nimble like processes. Our user interface is designed to be incredibly visually appealing and atmospheric; almost like having your own little slice of the world behind your screen choosing wherever you want to be and how you want it to be. When we think of "progress" in the desktop operating system, we don't always think of performance and power. We think of how we can improve the actual ease of multitasking, efficiency, stability and the overall efficiency of user input.
What is the target audience for this system?
Everybody and anybody. This system is designed to have as minimal of a learning curve as possible making it different, but somehow familiar to any user at any proficiency level right out of the box. The users we objectively designed this experience to target are creative individuals and artists on every level making it easier to freely express your thoughts without having to be hampered down. Creators demand fluidity of their thoughts, and having to switch between several different applications at a time can be very detrimental. The beauty of this system's desktop environment is that everybody can benefit from this in their everyday tasks - especially when more and more people who were once considered average users are now becoming power users and demand so much more than ever before from their system.
What is this system based on, and what are the objectives behind this?
Our systems are based upon the Open BSD platform, but with an independent desktop environment with an interface that is redesigned for ease of multitasking and less headaches. If you are a Linux or BSD user, you are aware that their are many "flavors" or official distributions. With all of these different distributions, there is very little change from variation to variation. Many Linux distributions want to keep a level of familiarity so they won't feel out of their comfort zone. However, in this project, we're not reinventing the wheel. Our goal is to chisel the wheel. BSD is a powerful and effective system and deserves a more prominent place in the technology world.
